He’d been right about that admin account. It was a domain admin. The guy had been walking around with a loaded gun and no safety and was too thick to comprehend the dangers of blowing off his own nuts. The system admin had had the username TJangles. Thanks TJangles, whoever you are. Finn tentatively hopped over to the database server using the credentials and had a look around. “Damnit.” The database admins were smart enough not to let the server guys have access. He wasn’t getting into the database with this account. He poured himself a vodka, vowing to go easy tonight since it was getting harder and harder to do his day job. But maybe a few bumps to keep the brain sharp, he mused to himself. He poked around the subnet to see what else he could jump to and that’s when he saw it blinking on his screen. The netstat entry popped out like a stripper at a gaming convention. The same subnet had email server databases. Messaging admins were fucking idiots. They were almost always the domain admins and he bet old TJangles would get him into those servers. He took a sip of vodka and held his breath as he tried the account. “No fucking way.” He watched as the server loading screen appeared. He’d still have to check he could get into the email server admin panel but he’d just gotten access in theory, at least not yet in practice, to all of their internal communications. He clapped his hands, he’d popped them. It was time to start reading. He measured out a small line of coke and tried the credentials he had. They worked to access the email server admin console as well. He would have to send whoever this TJangles was some flowers anonymously one day.
